About Us

Dr. Kenneth Bobb, Health Officer

Dr. Kenneth Bobb became our Health Officer in January of 2000. He brought with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. His willingness to take an active roll in all areas of public health is certainly a great benefit to the Health Department as well as the community. Dr. Bobb graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1952. He spent many years in family practice with offices in both Seymour and Crothersville. Claiming to be 7/10 retired he is currently the Medical Director for Hospice at Memorial Hospital and the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour along with being the Health Officer for Jackson County

We have three divisions:

Nursing:

Vital Statistics:

Karen Metz, Administrator/Office Manager

Mary Kovener, Vital Records Supervisor

Carolyn Bruce, Health Educator:

Smoking cessation.

Angie Richart-Lawburgh, Public Health Coordinator

Emergency Preparedness

Environmental:

Paul Ramsey, Environmental Health Director:
Housing complaints, environmental complaints, vector control, swimming pool and bathing beach inspections, and tattoo establishment inspections.

Food establishment inspections, education, and complaints, foodborne illness investigations, reportable illness investigations, water tests, animal bites, illegal burnings, and website design.

Larry Miller, Environmental Health Specialist:

Septic inspections, septic visuals, septic visuals with water tests, and vector control.
